Central Wash Facility:
This SOP applies to the Maneuver Training Center (MTC) Central Wash Facility's Sediment Basins, Absorbent Booms, and 55-gallon Oil Containers for Oil Skimmers.Types of Containers:
(1) 55 gallon-steel containers.(a) Oily water: 55-gallon closed-head container.
(b) Absorbent Booms: 55-gallon removable-head container.
Satellite Accumulation and Disposal Requirements for the MTC Central Wash Facility:
(1) All oil contaminated absorbent booms, and oily water collected from sediment basin must be placed within the appropriate 55-gallon container.(a) It is the responsibility of Range Operations to obtain a 55-gallon containers) from the MTC-Waste Accumulation Facility.
(b) Range Operations will follow the Regulated Waste Standard Operation Procedure (Section 8) for accumulation and disposal of oil contaminated absorbent booms and oily water from the Central Wash Facility.
(c) Any 55-gallon container used to accumulate oily water at the Central Wash Facility must have the green Non-Hazardous Waste Label and Marking on the container (Regulated Waste Standard Operation Procedure, Section 8).
(d) Range Operations will need to make arrangements with the MTC Recycling Center for transport of the regulated waste to the Waste Accumulation Facility, Building T-2361.
(e) If the sediment basins need to be cleaned of petroleum contaminated sludge, then Range Operations will contact the MTC-Environmental Specialist.
