New and Used Container Requirements for MTC Tenants:

(4) Used oil containers do not need to have the United Nation (UN) certification sticker, if they are to be taken to the Recycling Center for transfer into a "USED OIL" tank.

(5) Containers from a manufacturer's product can only be used one more time for shipment. They must meet all requirements mentioned. Examples: Fog Oil, Hydraulic Oil, Engine/Transmission Oil, etc…

Satellite Accumulation Area Labeling and Transporting Requirements for MTC Tenants:

(1) The generator (tenant) must have:

(a) Proper label or marking on the container. It must say "USED OIL".

(b) "USED OIL" must have 4" head space. The head space is the amount of space between the liquid and the top of the container.

(c) If satellite accumulation area is outside, containers must be in a secondary containment structure that prevents rainfall from entering and holds 55-gallons. Do not use secondary containment structure as primary container.

(3) Check for proper labeling of the container with words "USED OIL". If not, do not accept the container.

(4) The waste operator will check the container for water. If the container is over 20 percent water, then the operator will follow the Regulated Waste SOP.

(5) Once the container has passed for water content, the waste operator will take the container to the "USED OIL" tank and dump the oil into the tank.

(6) The "USED OIL" containers will be dumped at the time the checks have been completed.
